The area offers miles of river to scour for roach and rudd. Day tickets are available for the stocked waters of Priory Country Park whilst in all other public river areas, all you need is a rod licence. There are a number of special platforms for disabled anglers in Priory Country Park and around Longholme Lake.
Danish Camp Riverside Visitor Centre, at Willington, offers day fishing and rod hire; approximately 5 miles east of Bedford, Danish Camp welcomes visitors throughout the year whether they arrive by car, on foot, on wheels (Route 51 National Cycle Network,cycle hire available) or if by boat just moor up anywhere along the bank. Danish Camp’s large moated area is a site of tremendous historic significance and is believed to have been an ancient Danish encampment and trading place. Take a guided walk and learn all about their rare and exotic water fowl. The large Scandinavian log cabin provides a cozy retreat and serves wonderful homemade food.
