Bedford Museum

Housed in the former Higgins and Sons Brewery, Bedford Museum is situated within the picturesque gardens of Bedford Castle mound, beside the Great Ouse Embankment.

The collections reflect the human and natural history of Bedford and the surrounding area.

Cecil Higgins Art Gallery

The Cecil Higgins Art Gallery is an unusual combination of recreated Victorian Mansion (originally the home of the Higgins family, wealthy Bedford Brewers) and adjoining modern gallery housing an internationally renowned collection of watercolours, prints and drawings, ceramics, glass and lace. Bedford Gallery
Bedford Gallery is scheduled to open in April 2009 with an exhibition of Highlights from Cecil Higgins Art Gallery and Bedford Museum. A grant of £2.5 million has enabled the refurbishment of two historic buildings, Bedford Gallery and the Hexagon, and these works form Phase 1 of the overall vision to refurbish Cecil Higgins Art Gallery and Bedford Museum, flagship facilities in Bedford’s Cultural Quarter
